Every Friday as part of our Numeracy time we play a memory game called ‘Mind Twister’. The game is accessed through Mathletics and tests our ability to remember where matching pairs are hidden through four different levels. We have worked very hard together and been close to finishing the game on a number of occasions. Today we finally finished it! Our next challenge is to complete the game in the shortest amount of time possible!
Harmony Day
On Friday 21st we will be celebrating Harmony Day. The celebration of Harmony Day is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the different cultures that we have as part of our school community and what they all bring to our daily lives. Everyone is encouraged to wear their national dress or the colour orange. Please remember that sporting uniforms are NOT to be worn as part of our celebrations.
Everyone is also invited to bring along some food from their culture to share with their class. Please make sure that I am provided with a list of ingredients to ensure that no children with allergies are placed at risk.
Reconciliation Parent/Child Workshop
A quick reminder about the Parent/Child workshops to be held tonight, Tuesday 18th, at 5.00pm and 7.30pm. This is a compulsory part of the Reconciliation program so attendance is essential. If children are able to bring their pencil cases along it would be greatly appreciated.

St Patrick’s Day/Say No to Bullying Day
Today, March 17th, we celebrated the Feast Day of St Patrick. We learnt how he believed that Christ is in all of us and that we can use His strength to be Christ-like towards ourselves and others.
Following on from this theme, we also celebrated Say No to Bullying Day and made a commitment to protecting the welfare of ourselves and others by ‘Being a Warrior Against Bullying’.
Give the Dog a Bone
An activity we use during our Numeracy lessons is ‘Give the Dog a Bone’. The activity challenges you to find ten bones that are hidden in the hundreds grid within the 60 second time limit. It is a fun way to test your ability to read and locate numbers. The activity can be accessed by clicking on the link in the Bookmarks list.
World Day of Prayer
On Friday March 7th we will be celebrating World Day of Prayer. Fr Denis will be leading us in a decade of the rosary and he will be blessing the statue of Mary. This is an important event in our ongoing faith development at St Agatha’s.
Ash Wednesday
On Wednesday, March 5th, we celebrate Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. We will be attending a whole school Mass at 9.30am and receive the ashes on our foreheads. Lent is a time of prayer and repentance as we prepare for Easter.
